Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist combines Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist technologies, including a stop and hold function to bring your vehicle to a full stop. Once ProPILOT Assist is set and the lane markers are detected, the steering wheel and lane icons on the dash will turn from gray to green. Steering Assist will also help the driver stay in the center of the lane by providing small steering inputs. The system can be disengaged at any time, and if no hands are detected on the wheel, ProPILOT Assist will provide visual and audible alerts until it detects a hand. If the hand is still not placed on the wheel, the brakes will pulse. If both of those warning systems are ignored, your vehicle’s system will apply the brakes, slow down, and eventually come to a complete stop.
